Master Ron Tyree, 8th degree black belt, started his Isshinryu training under Sensei Allen Blackburn in 1980 for a year before becoming a student of Master Cooling. Sensei Tyree obtained his 1st (shodan) degree black belt in 1987 at the age of 16. Sensei Tyree trained exclusively with the Order of Isshinryu for 20 years but was inspired by Master Cooling to advance his martial arts knowledge and started studying American Kickboxing, Muay Thai, and No Gi Jiu Jitsu in 2001.
Master Tyree currently teaches a kids class at the Hombu Dojo in Elkton, Maryland. The children’s training focuses on Isshinryu and the grappling arts of wrestling and jiu jitsu. Sensei Tyree also is a the striking instructor at Elite Jiu Jitsu in Newark, DE (www.elitejiujitsu.com) where he instructs in the striking arts of karate, kickboxing, and Muay Thai. Finally, he leads a MMA fight team that competes across the country.
Master Tyree currently is a Behavior Analyst and has been in this profession for the last 10 years.
